Candlelight Carol Service

St James Church presents a candlelight service of readings and music on Sunday 6 December at 4:30pm. A selection of seasonal hymns will be sung, the choir will sing anthems by Craig Courtney and John Joubert, directed by Michael Capon, and Georgiana Stewart will sing the ancient chant “Alma Redemptoris Mater”.

The service symbolizes the journey from Advent to Christmas, from the Old Testament to the New, from darkness to light. The readings and music will explore the themes of creation and re-creation in the context of ancient prophecies, the birth of Christ, and visions for the future.

St James Church is at 10 Union St in Kingston, on the Queen’s campus.
