Queering Collage: Pride Edition 2026

Spend time in community—chatting, connecting, and creating, and join artists Alyssa Vernon and Alyssa Lynn for a special edition of Queering Collage in celebration of Kingston Pride. Participants will combine collage and cartooning as tools for self-expression and activism while engaging in conversations around actionable approaches to activist and liberatory work.

Alyssa Lynn will guide participants in the creation of their own Fluttergrrl, characters created by Lynn that are inspired by riot grrrl culture and reflect intersectional feminist approaches and anti-oppressive education. Alyssa Vernon will help participants decorate their Fluttergrrl through expressive collage-making and intentionally curated collage kits.

All materials are provided, and no prior art experience is necessary. You’re also welcome to bring personal images, such as photographs or magazine clippings, to incorporate into your collage.
