Event Details

Pay Attention. Be Astonished. Tell about it.”
These words of the poet, Mary Oliver, are the inspiration for Kingston Women Artists’ annual show at the Tett Centre, opening September 22. The title of the show exhorts both the artists and the public to “Pay Attention” to what’s happening in our world. Given the fraught climate these days, it will be interesting to see where the members of OKWA direct their attention. What people pay attention do shapes what they care about. The works on display will reflect the very personal concerns and interests of over 40 artists, whether they be political, environmental, personal or aesthetic.

The exhibition runs in the Community Gallery at the Tett Centre for two weeks, from September 22 to October 4. 10-4pm daily.
There is an art based activity during Culture Days, Sept 26th, 10 AM–1 PM.
There will be a reception from 2 pm to 4 pm on September 27.
Artist talks will take place on Tuesday, September 29.
OKWA, the Organization of Kingston Women artists, formed in 1989, now has 60 professional woman artists as members.
