04jun6:30 PM8:30 PMMake a Robot Butterfly WorkshopJoin artist Erin Kennedy for a hands-on introduction to creative electronics and new media art.

Event Details

In this workshop, participants will build a nature-inspired Robot Butterfly that can move its wings, chirp a little melody, and light up using electronics. This workshop is great for beginners as it offers an accessible and fun entry point into robotics and electronics art that is playful, interactive, and visually striking. Alongside building, participants will be invited to share stories about nature and creatures that are meaningful to them, whether it’s a favourite insect or pollinating plants from their home region. No prior experience is required, bring your curiosity and a willingness to experiment!

Registration:

– This session is limited to 8 participants to ensure a supportive and hands-on learning environment.

– As this workshop includes individually prepared electronic components and materials purchased in advance for each participant, we kindly ask that you register only if you are able to attend. This helps us reduce waste and ensure that materials are available for those who can fully participate.

– If you require accessibility supports (e.g., ASL interpretation or second-language translation), please register by May 25 in advance so we can make arrangements.
