Gouache is a unique, fun medium, whether you are just starting out or a seasoned artist; learning to paint in gouache is an excellent skill.
ALL SUPPLIES WILL BE PROVIDED (small fee). Gouache has been used for hundreds of years. It is now becoming popular again for plein air because it is water-soluble, light and easy to carry and dries to a lovely velvet finish. It is easy to change and/or correct. That is always a plus. It comes in vibrant colours and is most often used on fine watercolour paper. On this special Gouache Day, you will explore its distinctive qualities, from painting light over dark to building bold areas of solid colour and achieving a soft matte surface that photographs beautifully. Through demonstrations and personalized guidance, you will create beautiful landscapes using provided or your own images.
