Ghosts of Ortona: Ian Cosh at Novel Idea

Author and anthropologist Ian Cosh will read from and discuss his new book, Ghosts of Ortona: Reckoning with the Traumas of Canadian World War II Veterans, at Novel Idea Bookstore.

Drawing on years of research with Canadian veterans, German veterans, and civilians in Ortona, Italy, Ghosts of Ortona explores the experience and aftermath of the devastating December 1943 battle, and the tensions between veterans’ lived experience of war and the ways war is publicly remembered. The evening will include a reading, discussion, and audience questions.
