A Fabric Swap to find something new, meet other fabulous makers, and refresh your sew-jo for Spring!
Sunday, April 12th, 2026, 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM
(Early bird hour starts at 11:00 AM for anyone who donated to the swap.)
If you sew, you probably have an infamous stash; that corner of your room (or closet, or bin, or all three) where fabric lives that you bought with the best intentions but haven’t touched in years.
A fabric swap is the most satisfying solution: you bring (ahead of time) what you’re ready to let go of, and in return, you get to browse and take home fabric, patterns, or books that someone else loved but is passing on.
Think of it like a clothing swap, but for your sewing stash.
Everything is free. The goal is to keep fabric out of the landfill and provide new loving homes where it can be turned into a wearable or usable item to be enjoyed for years to come.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE
– Decide what you’re ready to part with from your stash that fits the upcoming season.
– Drop-offs welcome starting March 29th until April 10th during store hours (Wed-Sat 10-5).
– On swap day, browse and take home “new to you” fabric, patterns or books.
– Don’t have anything to donate this season? That’s ok! You’re welcome to still participate from 12-2 and take home anything that strikes your fancy.
WHAT TO DONATE
1. Quality garment fabric at least 1m in length. (Big enough for a full project)
2. Natural fibres are preferred, but not mandatory. (We’d rather see fabric go to use than end up in a landfill.)
3. Fabric must be in usable condition, clean and neatly folded. (No stains, rips or smells)
4. Fabric must be labelled, indicating as many details as you can remember about it. (Things like: where purchased, contents/type of material, quantity/measurement, name of designer/brand, when purchased, etc.)
5. Complete uncut patterns (Patterns should be from within the last 10 years; we have A LOT of vintage patterns and will have some on hand to share.)
6. Books (Relevant to sewing, techniques, embroidery, etc.)
NOTE: We are NOT accepting notions for this first swap; we may reconsider in the future.
