Event Details

Contemplating Glaciers – A Dialogue, is a solo art exhibition by Jan Kabatoff, a British Columbia artist who has trekked across glaciers for over two decades from South America, North America, and Asia. Her interaction with glaciers and their melting state informs her art practice, as she creates unique sculptures and installations to depict the degradation of glaciers due to climate change. This exhibition will run from August 2 – August 31 in the Tett Gallery at the Tett Centre for Creativity for Learning. The opening reception is August 2, 6-8:30pm, and an artist talk will be held August 3, 1-2pm. This project has been endorsed by the United Nations International Year for Glaciers Preservation, and has been sponsored by the British Columbia Arts Council. It also includes a live panel discussion with scientists advocating for climate change awareness.
